Tenant Handbook

Freight Elevators

Service Elevator Usage

  • Customers that share floors with other companies floors are not permitted to move during business hours 8am-6pm.
  • Full floor customers may perform smaller scale moves (chair, crates, etc.) during business hours as long as the noise does not disrupt the customers below.
  • Two trips are only allowed for small scale deliveries/moves and 30 minute maximum parking at the loading dock.
  • Service elevators are shared on a first come-first served basis during business/non-exclusive hours.
  • All deliveries or moves requiring exclusive use of the service elevators, or for longer than 30 minutes, should be arranged for Exclusive hours and must be scheduled via special reservations outlined in the next section.
  • Exclusive use of elevators is subject to availability and the customer shall be charged an hourly fee. There may be a 4 hour minimum based on staff availability.
  • Elevator hatches are not permitted to be opened for any reason during operation of the elevator.  Oversized furniture and equipment may require an elevator mechanic’s involvement, which must be arranged through the Prudential Center Management Office at least seventy-two (72) hours in advance.  There will be an hourly fee charged to the customer for the special services.

Reservations for Exclusive Use of Service Elevators

Reservations for exclusive service elevator use can be made by submitting the request, including date, times, purpose, and any other special needs, at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance.  All requests should be submitted by calling Office Tenant Services at (617) 236-2350.  An hourly fee will be charged to the customer for an elevator operator.  If a scheduling conflict precludes exclusive use, an alternate time may be necessary.

  • All elevators are available for exclusive use  on the weekends (Friday from 11pm to 5am Monday). In addition, please see the weekday availability schedules for each service elevator below.
  • In the Tower, customers can reserve both freights as long as another customer hasn't requested the same time. We are unable to definitively confirm both are available until a day before the move. The second freight also has to accommodate any other misc. building deliveries, but typically not many. Example (FedEx, Courier, Amazon, etc.)
